Armona Island in the Algarves, Portugal, I was attracted by the the white buildings, the white shapes, the striped awnings the laundry in the window, the chimney, the windows, the roof, the boat all in whites with touches of other colours. Loved how the shapes related to each other and how it all seemed to work together. I really enjoyed painting this, I knew there was something I wanted to explore when I first saw this scene. All the interaction of the shapes just seemed to fit together like a puzzle when I painted it.
